Mount Brydges, Ontario – The Mount Brydges Bulldogs have one game this up and coming weekend and it is a symbolic and important one. The Bulldogs, along with the North Middlesex Stars will begin their Battle of Highway 81 season series and game one is this Friday at the Tri Township Arena in Mount Brydges.
The story begins back in August when the Bulldogs were approached by the Stars to engage in a best-of-five game (season) series. The winner gets the season bragging rights and a very impressive looking piece of silverware. The inspirational basis of this series takes after the Ontario Hockey League’s I75 series between the Saginaw Spirit and the Flint Firebirds.
“This is a fun opportunity,” says social media director, Nick Sakellis. “There is a wealth of local talent on both teams and both clubs are big on giving local talent a chance to shine on the junior hockey stage. I’m excited to see how this season series unfolds this year and for years to come.”
The inaugural series will be powered by McDonnell Motors Ltd in Strathroy, Ontario.
