TOUGH ROAD AHEAD FOR WARRIORS

This weekend the Warriors will have two league games against Rutgers-Camden and Bucknell, two teams that sit within the American East Division with ESU. It all starts on Saturday at the Rev when the Warriors take on Rutgers at 2:00pm. Both teams sit at 1-1 in the standings and tied for 2nd place in the division, right behind Bucknell. This will be Rutgers third game overall for the season as they lost their opening game to Rowan, 3-2, in a non league contest and then last week had a two game weekend against Alvernia and Bucknell where they split those two games, winning 4-3 and losing 6-2 respectively. Rutgers took both contests between these two teams last year by scores of 7-4 and 5-1 so ESU will be looking for better results on Saturday.

Then on Sunday the Warriors will travel back to Sunbury Ice Rink to take on the first place Bucknell Bison. The game will take place at 3:45pm and ESU will be hoping that they come into this game with a victory on Saturday and looking to take the top spot in the division after a win on Sunday. The Bison come into this game with a 2-0 league record with wins over Rutgers and Alvernia and a 6-0 overall record for the season with 4 non league wins against Lafayette, PSU Harrisburg, Franklin & Marshall and Susquehanna. These two teams have squared off three total times in the last two seasons. Two years ago, ESU swept a home and home with the Bisons, winning the second game at Sunbury in a shootout while last season the two squads only played each other once at Sunbury and Bucknell was able to hold onto a 4-2 victory over a shorthanded Warriors team. This will be the second game of the weekend for Bucknell as well as they will face Bloomsburg University Saturday night at Coal Street in Wilkes Barre.
