The Long Island Gulls U16 team captured the ECC College Cup tournament championship, played this weekend at Wesleyan University.  The boys went undefeated in 5 games, playing some of the top teams in the northeast. 

Matt Coronato (02’- Greenlawn, NY) led the way, scoring 7 Goals and 4 Assists.  Also pacing the offense was Chris Carroll (01- Islip, NY), 3 Goals, 6 Assists, Jack Mitchell (01- Merrick, NY) 2 Goals, 5 Assists and Anthony Calafiore (02- Staten Island, NY) with 4 Goals and 2 Assists.

Brandon Chabrier (02- Bayville, NY) and Shayan Farjam (01- Hawthorne, NY) led a strong defensive effort that saw the team allow just 6 goals in the 5 games. 

“Total team effort”, Gulls U16 Head Coach Dan Cassano said.  “The boys had a great week of practice and prepared extremely well for this weekend.  Happy they were rewarded with a championship”.
