2020-2021 Prospect Skate Announced

Mount Pleasant, MI- Central Michigan faced Trine University today at home, after CMU defeated Trine the previous day.
After defeating Trine 6-3 Friday night, the Chips had high expectations for the second game of the weekend. Lawrence Rowe scored a goal during the first game and hoped to do so again, “We beat them in their place, so hopefully we can beat them in our place and get that home and home sweep” Rowe said. Trine with the first goal of the night, but Ryan Tyrer put CMU on the board late in the first. At the end of the first period the game was tied 1-1.
The Chippewas came into the second period prepared to fight. Trine scored one more goal, but Dalton Sutherland quickly fired back to tie the game at two. Both teams sent players to the penalty box and the fight continued. Nick Wink scored two more goals for CMU late in the second, and closed out the period with a 4-2 lead.
The third period started with the Chips ready to keep scoring. With players continuing to be sent to the penalty box, the time slowly ticked by. Dalton Sutherland scored another goal putting CMU ahead by 3 goals. The game finished with the Chips up 5-2, earning their first home and home series of the weekend.
The Chippewas will return to MCHC play next weekend as they face Hope College. Both games can be heard live on chipshockeycast.com.
