TSCHL Finishes 2-1-2 in ACHA DII All-Star Classic
Date: Apr 16, 2019

Dayton, Ohio—The Wright State Club Hockey Team is set to take the ice Friday, September 15 on the road before returning home on September 16th. They will be battling in a home and home series against the Denison University Big Red. These will be the first two games of the season for the Raiders.
“I am excited to finally get back on the ice and make some memories with the new players and old teammates alike. Although we have so few guys this year, the team will have to be a cohesive unit more so than other years.” Said Scott Humes, a senior forward. Humes also went on to say “I think this group is ready to accept the challenge while having fun.” The smaller roster is something that this team is hoping to turn into a positive this year. With several guys deciding not to return and one person choosing to transfer schools, they will have to rely heavily on their senior leaders. With that being said, the addition of several talented freshman should help with the transition to a smaller, more talented team.
Wright State also features a new face behind the bench this year. With the addition of Head Coach, Rick Szabo, the Raiders hope to receive a new identity. There are sure to be many changes to the philosophies this year, but, the team feels that the changes will result in a much more confident and improved team. In the short run, the team feels that they will be given every opportunity to show the amount of talent that this team has. In the long run, the team hopes the changes will attract many new faces in the future. All in all, it should be an enjoyable year for the Raiders.
Denison University comes in to this series with high hopes as well. In fact, they are hoping to have a “bursting on to the scene” weekend as they play their first two games as part of the ACHA. With very little known about the pesky Big Red, it should prove to be a fun atmosphere and a very competitive weekend.
