Mount Brydges, Ontario - The dog-days of summer have concluded and the Mount Brydges Bulldogs, along with the many teams in Provincial Junior Hockey League, are turning the final corner of the pre-season and the anticipation of the 2017-2018 season will quickly become a reality.
The Bulldogs were busy in the offseason as the team added new blood on the bench and in the Doghouse dressing room. The team welcomes a new trio of coaches in Paul Hopkins (head coach), Shayne Thournout, and Tyler Duarte. In addition to the bench additions, local minor hockey products Nathan Pawlowski and Shayne Wuytenburg put pen to paper and inked themselves into the junior hockey ranks this past summer. Familiar faces such as Patrick Keogh, Mike Vanden Elzen, and Alex VanderHeyden are returning veterans and are eager to lace up the skates for the Bulldogs this season.
The team have completed three out of five pre-season games and are boasting a 3-0-0 record.

Exhibition Game 2: Bulldogs 1:0 Aylmer Spitfires
Exhibition Game 3: Bulldogs 4:1 Thamesford Trojans
With two exhibition games remaining, the Bulldogs will play hosts twice.
Friday, September 8, 7:30 vs Petrolia Flyers – Tri Township Arena
Sunday, Septeber 10, 3:30 vs Thamesford Trojans – Tri Township Arena
The 2017-18 season will officially kick-off for the Dogs on Friday, September 15 when the team travels to Dorchester to take on the Dolphins for a 7:30 puck-drop at the Dorchester CC.
The Bulldogs home opener is slated for Sunday, September 17 at 3:30 versus the Trojans from Thamesford.
