OTTAWA, ONT --
The Nepean Raiders and Kanata Lasers announced a straight swap on Thursday afternoon, as the Raiders sent '98-born forward Ugo Roik to the Lasers in exchange for '99-born forward Ryan Horvath.
Horvath, a former 50-point player at the prep level with Stanstead College, joins Nepean after a trying rookie campaign with Kanata in 2016-17.
"His skill set is second to none," said Raiders head coach Darcy Findlay of his newest forward. "He didn't have a great season due to injuries and other things, but there's a reason he was a high-end prospect -- we're hoping he has a breakout season."
Roik, an Ottawa Jr. 67's product, collected 25 points (nine goals, 16 assists) in 85 contests for the Raiders over two-plus seasons.
