The Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) announced today that Sean Marcellus has been named the league's Director of Hockey Operations.  For the past two seasons the Arnprior, ON native had been the Administration and Operations Manager with wide-ranging responsibilities from the CCHL Communications, Website and media platforms to member team services for operations.

The new role will see Marcellus expand his responsibilities in the Hockey Operations department under the supervision of Commissioner Kevin Abrams, who stated “Sean has proven to be a tireless worker who embraces the fast-changing world of Junior hockey administration and is willing to do the broadest spectrum of assignments to ensure the leagues’ best interests come first.  This will allow for him to continue his growth and experience while continuing in many of the capacities he has held.”

Carlos Verde joins the CCHL from the university ranks and will assume the Media and Community Relations portfolio from outgoing executive Tony House, who is focusing on his successful basketball program, as well as duties involving multi-media platforms, website content and other initiatives.   “The opportunity to add someone of Carlos's ability and experience is exciting for the CCHL. His youth belies his wealth of knowledge and his passion for junior hockey is evident.  The CCHL is happy to welcome him and be part of his next step in sports in the Ottawa community.

The CCHL executive consists of Commissioner and President Kevin Abrams, Senior Vice President & Director of Finance Ted Ward, Statistician & League Records Manager Peter Peckett, Broadcast Manager Whit Prophet and Manager of Academic Services Jonathan Calof.  Steve Barban returns as the leagues’ Chairman of the Board of Governors.

The CCHL opens its 56th season on September 2, 2017 at the Bell Sensplex with all twelve member teams playing three games over the Labour Day Weekend.
