The Green Gaels and the Akwesasne Indians will renew post season acquaintances beginning this weekend as the Gaels travel to A'nowara'ko:wa Arena for games 1 and 2 of the OJBLL Eastern Conference Finals.

This will be the first playoff matchup between these two clubs since the 2013 OJBLL Eastern Conference Championship which the Gaels won 3 games to 1. While the Gaels may have won that series 4 years ago, Akwesasne won the most recent matchup between these two clubs as they defeated the Gaels 10 - 8 in Akwesasne back on July 4th in a tight matchup between the two evenly matched teams.

Game 1 - Saturday, July 22 - 7:00PM - Green Gaels @ Akwesasne Indians - A'nowara'ko:wa Arena

Game 2 - Sunday, July 23 - 2:00PM - Green Gaels @ Akwesasne Indians - A'nowara'ko:wa Arena

Game 3 - Friday, July 28 - 8:00PM - Akwesasne Indians @ Green Gaels - Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex

*Game 4 - Saturday, July 29 - 7:00PM - Akwesasne Indians @ Green Gaels - Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex

*Game 5 - Sunday, July 30 - 2:00PM - Akwesasne Indians @ Green Gaels - Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex

Akwesasne is coming off two clean sweeps, first of the Orillia Kings in the first round, followed by their division rival Kahnawake Hunters in the second round of the playoffs. Russ Oakes and Skylar Thomas will lead Akwesasne into this series as they have throughout the playoffs, as they have put up 82 points between the two of them drive the Akwesasne offense.

The Gaels have had to fight a bit harder to get to this point. Following a sweep of the Mississauga Tomahawks, the Gaels ran into another South-East division squad in the Oakville Buzz. The Buzz pushed the Gaels to five games, but the Gaels came out on top this past Sunday evening to advance to their second straight OJBLL Eastern Conference Final.

Game #1 of the series takes place on Saturday, July 22nd at 7PM at A'nowara'ko:wa Arena and game #2 will take place Sunday, July 23rd at 2PM at A'nowara'ko:wa Arena. The series will return to Clarington the following weekend for games #3, #4, and #5 (if necessary), with all Green Gaels Home Games being played at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex. Game #3 will take place Friday, July 28th at 8PM, followed by game #4 on Saturday, July 29th at 7PM, and game #5 on Sunday, July 30th at 2PM.

This should be an exciting playoff matchup with both teams determined to move to the league finals for a chance to take home the OJBLL championship and a trip to the Founder's Cup National Championship in Saskatchewan.

Tickets for Green Gaels Home Playoff Games are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and students, while children 12 and under are admitted free under the supervision of an adult. Kids, don't forget to bring your sticks and helmets to go on the floor in between periods at all Gaels home games!
