LEOMINSTER, Mass. - Wachusett turn out their eighth double digit run performance, as the Dirt Dawgs provide the fireworks to Doyle Field early as they down the Seacoast Mavericks 14-4, Monday night.

How it Happened
Jon Gegetskas (Westfield State) got the start for the Dawgs, going 6.0 inning, allowing just 3 hits, and one earned run, as the southpaw struck out a season high 11 batters. Zack Tower (Franklin Pierce) provided the offensive fireworks for the Dawgs, as the incoming senior Raven launched two moon shots over the left field fence, while driving in four on the night.
In the bottom of the second, the Dawgs struck four times, as Bradley Wood (Northern Ill) singled home Kyle Cala (Wagner). After, Mike Coggeshall (Assumption) scored on a fielder's choice, Joe Jumonville (Northern Ill) plated two runs on a single through the left side. The lead would quickly expand in the third inning, as Tower hit a moon shot over the left field light tower, to make it 5-0 Dawgs.
Seacoast got on the board in the fifth inning, as Edison Cabrera (Tusculum College) hit a solo homerun to center field, to cut into the lead. Wachusett would answer in the bottom half of the inning when Andrew Bene (Shippenburg) doubled home Tower, making it 6-1.
The Dirt Dawgs broke it open in the sixth inning, as they scored four runs in the inning. Tower launched his second homerun of the game with a three run shot, to bring his season total up to eight. Cala scored on a sacrifice fly to center field, pushing the lead up to 10-1.
After the Mavericks plated two runs on a Julian Bury (Columbia) single up the middle, Jack Gethings (Fairfield) blasted a two run shot over the right field fence, making it 12-3. Bene added to the Dawgs lead with a two RBI double to the right center gap.
In the ninth, Benjamin Irvine (Northern Essex CC) led off the inning with a solo shot to right field.
