Atwater split the doubleheader on Tuesday, dropping game 1 by a score of 18-9 and winning the second 13-8. 

 

Game 1

On the Mound-

Joe Blair (CSU East Bay) went four innings, allowing one run on one hit a walk and four strikeouts. The bullpen struggled for Atwater, giving up 17 runs and 16 hits over the next 5 innings after Blair left the game. 

 

Max Daxin started the game for Reno, going 4 innings, striking out 7 but giving up 5 runs. 

 

Game Summary-

Pete Bizzini (Sonoma State University) led the Aviators offense by going 4-5 with a homer, 2 RBI and a run. Right behind him, Brad Bussard went 3-5 with a homerun, 3 RBI and 3 runs scored. Jimmy Tatum (Trinity University) and Alex Pallios (Merced College) also hit bombs. 

 

Ryne Edmondson was 2-5 with two long balls, 4 RBI and 2 runs. Also, Matt Longland had a good game, hitting 3-5 with a grand slam, 5 RBI and 2 runs.

Game 2

On the Mound-

Matt Clark (Modesto JC) started for Atwater, tossing 6+ innings, giving up 9 hits and 6 runs. Clark struck out 11 batters.

 

Game Summary-

Brian Cardone (Trinity University) went 4-5 with two homeruns, 2 RBI and 4 runs scored. Alex Pallios (Merced College) also had two bombs, a part of a 3-3 day, 2 walks with 5 RBI and 4 runs scored. Homeruns were also hit by: Jackson Martin (Henderson State), Victor Tiscareno (Merced College) and Kevin Saenz Jr. (South Mountain CC). 

 

For Reno, Houston Roberts was 1-4 with a 2 run homer. Matt Longland also had a two run homer for the Rams.
