Speedos finish off Aviators in 6 game sweep

Atwater Aviators at Top Speed Baseball  6/20/2017

 
The Aviators dropped both games in the doubleheader on Tuesday against Top Speed. Top Speed won by scores of 12-0 and 5-3.
 
Game 1
On the Mound- 
Brayden Bebee (Henderson State) started the game and went 5 innings, giving up 7 runs (4 earned). Bebee now has 11 strikeouts in 19.2 innings on the summer thus far. 
 
Ryan Calderon earned the win for the Speedos, improving to 3-0 this summer. He went 6 innings as he limited Atwater to 3 hits, striking out 5 batters. Top Speed's bullpen combined for 3 innings and struck out 7 hitters and gave up no hits. 
 
Game Summary-
The offense struggled for the Aviators. Drew Gwerder (Holy Names University) was able to draw two walks as Mitchell Pryschuk (University of Antelope Valley) and Jackson Martin were the only Aviators to collect base hits in this game.
 
Once again, Trevor Archenbach proved to be a thorn in the side of the Aviators, going 4-5 with 2 homeruns, 4 RBI and 3 runs. Nathaniel Maggio was went 3-5 scoring once and collecting 1 RBI on the game.

Game 2
On the Mound-
Joe Blair (CSU East Bay) went 4 innings, giving up 5 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 4 batters. In relief, Brian Cardone (Trinity University) went 1 inning and struck out the side. 
 
For the Speedos, Kyle Lazcano tossed 4 innings of no-hit baseball, struck out 6 but walked 2 Aviators. He earned his first win this summer. Tyler Follis came in to earn the save as the reliever went 1.1 innings and allowed no hits.
 
Game Summary-
The offensive leader for Atwater was Nikko Delgado (CSU Stanislaus). Delgado hit his first homerun of the summer, going 1-1 with 2 walks. In the 7th, Atwater threatened with two runners on base, but was not able to capitalize and complete the comeack. 
 
Alex Bee had a good game, going 2-3 with a walk, run and RBI. Also going 2-3, Logan Ehnes had two RBI of his own to go with the two hits. 
 
Win: Kyle Lazcano (1-0)    Loss: Joe Blair (1-1)
 
What's Next: The Aviators take on the Vols in non-league play on Friday at Fireman's Memorial Ballpark. Game time is 7 pm. After that, Atwater travels to Reno for 6 games in 4 days.
