The Long Beach Bombers are proud to announce their second age-out player commitment, as forward, Sine Chadi, has chosen to attend University of Arkansas. Chadi becomes the second Bombers player to sign with the Razorbacks (Max Barr was the first). The power forward from Edmonton, Alberta was a late-season addition, and quickly used the WSHL platform to earn himself an ACHA Division-1 deal. 

In 16 games with Long Beach, Chadi registered 3 Assists and 8 Penalty Minutes. His physical play on the forecheck, along with his net-front presences on the power play, created situational value and mismatches for the Bombers. Sine had left his team in the Alberta Junior Hockey League,  prior to joining the Bombers. In a matter of just a few months, he has extended his playing career and achieved a personal goal of advancing to the collegiate level.

Brian Gallini, University of Arkansas Head Coach, shared his thoughts, “We had an opportunity to watch the Bombers at the Vegas Showcase and, to follow their playoff run.  It was clear that their style of play overlapped with the style we embrace. Sine displayed a certain level of professionalism and maturity that we seek.  We were impressed, and remain so, with the caliber of player and person the Bombers both attract and develop.  We are excited to welcome Sine and Max to our program and anticipate that both will make an immediate impact on our historic goal to become the first SEC school to make the Division I National Tournament.”

Bombers Head Coach & General Manager, Chris White, added, “Sine is a big-bodied forward that can be very effective, as we saw in our final game of the season, against Valencia at the Thorne Cup. I knew from day one he was interested in collegiate hockey. I am so happy that in such a short time, we were able to provide the bridge for him to take that next step. It’s a credit to the league, the organization, the staff, his teammates, and of course, to Sine, himself. Despite arriving with a nagging injury, he fought through the adversity and gave us a full commitment, both physically and emotionally. I think with an entire off-season to prepare, he should hit the ground running, in Fayetteville. We wish Sine and the Razorbacks all the best in the upcoming season, and seasons to come.”

Q & A with Sine Chadi:

You spent three seasons in junior hockey, playing for several organizations throughout Canada and the United States. What were some of your career highlights?

I have had many memories over the past years. A couple that stand out are winning the league in my 15-16 season playing for the Edmonton Red Wings, and this year playing in Long Beach, making it all the way to the Thorne Cup finals.

Although you only spent a couple months in Long Beach, what can you tell us about your time there?

They were undoubtedly the most fun I’ve ever had within the 2-month span I was in LB. Good friends, good hockey, great place to live. What more can a man ask for?

Your college signing process happened very quickly. What was the process like, for you?

Truth be told it all happened so quick but I am very happy it did. Max Barr knew I wanted to play college but did not have NCAA eligibility, so he recommended the U of Arkansas to me, gave me the coach’s number and off we went. I committed a month or so later after talking to him.

What are some things you are most excited about for the upcoming hockey season, and your Freshman year at University of Arkansas?

Being able to show what I am truly about on the ice, I want to show I have weight to pull. I’m also excited to get my classes going, truth be told I enjoy sitting in a classroom.
