BUTTE COBRAS SIGN NET MINDER

MEDFORD,OREGON – Butte broke up a 3-3 tie with five goals in the last seven minutes and 45 seconds to oust Southern Oregon 8-3.
The Cobras had taken a 2-0 lead after one period, and 3-1 after two periods. But, the Medford team scored two quick goals to tie the game at three.
That’s when the onslaught started. With 7:45 to play, Derek Smith scored the go ahead goal. At 5:15, Jan Marcillis made it 5-3. At 4:51, Daniel Armstrong scored to give the Cobras a 6-3 lead. Then at the 4:39 mark, it was Joel Johnson lighting the lamp to make it 7-3.
With 1:11 left in the game, Taylor Karr rounded out the scoring, and the Cobras were on their way to the next round in the Western States Hockey League playoffs.
