Date: May 16, 2018
I write to provide some information as the Gulls Amateur Hockey Association ("Gulls") prepares for the conclusion of the 2016/2017 season. As the Gulls transition to the commencement of the 2017/2018 season, we thank you for all your support of your children and the organization. We have a great group of dedicated families and players, we should all be proud to be Gulls.
The Gulls have arranged for practice and game ice for all of its teams for 2017/2018 season at the Islander Iceworks facility, the Long Island Sports Hub and Newbridge Ice Arena. A full practice schedule and matrix is being finalized and will be announced prior to the start of tryouts. Recently the organization has entered into a multi-year relationship, with the full support of the New York Islanders, for the use of the Iceworks facility (including locker rooms, off-ice training etc.). We look forward to the upcoming season and the growth of our organization. "We are thrilled to welcome the Long Island Gulls into the New York Islanders family," Garth Snow, Islanders President and General Manager said. "The Gulls organization from top to bottom is well respected throughout the entire youth hockey community. To partner with them and have their teams skate at Islanders Iceworks and The Hub gives them a home in Syosset and will continue to build upon the Islanders overall goal of strengthening youth hockey throughout all of Long Island."
2017-2018 tryout details for all teams are currently being finalized. The dates, times and locations for tryouts will be posted on the Gulls website shortly. A full list of the Head Coaches for all of the Gulls teams will also be posted on the website later this week.
Additionally, I am pleased to announce that effective immediately: (a) Mike Bracco, as Gulls Vice President and Director of Hockey Operations, (b) Rob Hare. Gulls Hockey Director and (c) Mark Cole, Gulls Hockey Director are available to assist you with any and all of your questions or concerns. Mike, Rob and Mark will be working tirelessly to further the development of all of our players and will support our entire coaching staff. Please join me in welcoming Mark and Rob to their new positions where they will address any and all of your inquiries and concerns regarding the on-ice programming for the Gulls. As always, please do not hesitate to contact the Gulls office or myself directly with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Jon Hull, President
Gulls Amateur Hockey Association
