The Butte Cobras skated past the Vancouver Rangers 7-4 Sunday afternoon to complete the three-game series sweep at the Butte Community Ice Center. Stats

The game was the regular-season home finale for the third-place Cobras, who will return home to host a playoff series.

Augusts Veidenbaums registered a hat trick to highlight Butte’s matinee victory. Jan Marcilis, Petr Panacek, Derek Smith and Connor Wherrett added goals in the win.

Marcilis assisted on four goals, while Varclav Beran assisted three goals.

Alex Mitsionis’ two goals led Vancouver. Butte net minder Eric Ahlberg turned away 46 shots in the win. Vancouver outshot Butte 50-44.

The Cobras (29-17-2) close out the regular season with four games on the road next week. Butte will play a Southern Oregon on Thursday before beginning at three-game series at Lake Tahoe on Friday.
