Meet#24, Freshman Owen Burke

Freshman Owen Burke just started playing hockey last year when he joined the Abington Middle School team, but with hard work, heart and determination, has already worked his way from the practice squad to a few games with the Varsity team. Owen's older brother Kyle is one of this year's seniors and one of two brother pairs on the Varsity squad this season.
 
Owen's favorite subject is math and he hope to one day attend Temple University. Hockey is the only sport he plays and his favorite NHLer is the one and only Wayne Train Simmonds. Owen said he didn't have a favorite hockey memory, but that was before he came within millimeters of scoring his first Varsity goal a few weeks ago. The scream from the bench was deafening! Owen's personal goal for this season was to improve all around, and we hope he sees improvement, because the coaches certainly do.
 
As Kyle graduates and moves on, we look forward to having Owen and the Burke's as part of the program for a few more years.
