BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Butte Cobras continued their hot streak Saturday night, skating to a 5-3 WSHL victory over the Bellingham Blaze. Stats
Five Butte players scored goals, and the Cobras jumped out to a 4-0 lead before holding on to win for the 20th time in 24 games.
Earl Webb and Vaclav Beran scored first-period goals to put the Cobras (25-17-2) up for good. Petr Panacek and Harro Koll scored in the second period to make it 4-0.
Taylor Karr added an insurance goal in the third period.
Thomas Stevens scored twice for the Blaze, who fell to 13-34-1. Justin Sullivan also scored in the loss.
Eric Ahlberg minded the net for Butte, saving 26 shots.
The Cobras will go for the three-game sweep of the Blaze Sunday afternoon.
