HAMILTON FALLS TO DUNDAS

Date:  Source: Hamilton Steelhawks

Hamilton played their second road game of the season on Friday night when they visited the Dundas Real McCoys in ACH action.  The Steelhawks looked to be spoilers as the Real McCoys were playing their first game at home but they were unable to do so.  Jeff Leaist picked up the loan goal for Hamilton while Ben Skinner had three points in the game.

Dundas came out quick, unlike two weeks ago when they visited Mountain Arena.  Just 23 seconds into the game they scored but Hamilton responded just over six minutes later when Josh McQuade pulled the defenseman out of the lane with a great deke.  This allowed him to make a pass into the slot to Leaist who put it into the open cage to tie the game at one.  The teams traded chances the rest of the period but went to the dressing rooms knotted at one.

The Real McCoys would take the lead in the second period on a tip in goal just over four minutes into the frame.  Dundas would add a pair of goals in the third, including an empty netter, to take the game 4-1.

The Steelhawks are next on the ice tomorrow (Saturday) night when they host the Thorold Athletics at the Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena also at 7:30pm.

Tickets for all Hamilton Steelhawks home games are available for purchase at the team’s website www.hamiltonsteelhawks.com or at the Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena on game day.
