O’Donnell to continue playing career at NCAA Division III’...

It wasn’t exactly a good day for the Billings Bulls.
Coming into Helena for their season opener, Billings had high expectations against a young Bighorns team still finding its identity. By the end of the game, the Bulls might be looking for their own.
A 5-goal first period put the Bighorns in the driver’s seat, despite areas of opportunity to improve. The penalty kill for Helena needs some work, as evidenced by Billings capitalizing on all 3 of their power play opportunities in Friday night’s game. Defensively, the ‘Horns still need to find a way to keep from opposing shots reaching the net, now averaging over 50 shots against per game.
But, a win is a win, they say. That win puts Helena in a 3 way tie for first in the Frontier Division in terms of win percentage. Great Falls still controls the lead in overall points, having played and won one more game than Helena.
The Bighorns look to tonight’s contest against the Bozeman Icedogs to hone in on their game, and begin to make improvements in areas this young team is still struggling in.
Puck drops at 7:05pm tonight at the Helena Ice Arena.
