The Cape Cod Islanders continue to set the bar when it comes to moving players on to the college level.  Defenseman Dylan Legarie has committed to attend East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas.  The Tigers are a first year program and will compete in ACHA D II and share a rink with the NAHL's expansion team the Bossier Shreveport Mudbugs.

Legarie, the 6-1 185 pound defenseman from Warwick, Rhode Island played in 30 games last season scoring 5 goals and adding 16 assists while registering a +22 rating.  "Unfortunately Dylan had a few nagging injuries last season that he battled through. He was one of the most respected guys in our locker room.  He lead by example, battled hard and gave everything he had every shift." coach Jay Punsky said "He was a guy we used in all situations, our power play was definitley different without him.  East Texas Baptist is getting a great young man for them to build a program around, he's a leader and will make the university proud on and off the ice."
