A native of Westwood, MA., Flynn has spent five seasons working in the NCAA and American Hockey League. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Point Mallard coaching staff.
“I’m very excited to be joining the Point Mallard family,” Flynn said. “I’m looking forward to continuing the success of the program by helping Coach Winker continue to build a winning culture here in Decatur.”
The 32-year-old most recently served as video coach of the AHL’s Iowa Wild where we worked with the organization’s younger players using video to help develop and improve their skills and habits, he also worked on game preparation by pre-scouting all opponents and worked with the special teams units. Prior to his time in Iowa, Flynn spent three seasons with the University of Alabama Huntsville as a volunteer assistant coach, assistant coach and director of hockey operations. During his time in Huntsville, Flynn also worked at USA Hockey Select Camps and as an instructor for TPH.
