The inaugural ITBL season concluded on Saturday as the 18U and 16U Champions were crowned. The Connecticut Moose won the 18U Championship and Dream Bat Black won the 16U Championship.

The Connecticut Moose took down Dream Bat Black in the 18U Championship by a score of 4-2 on Saturday at Western New England University. Tyler Rice put the Moose on the board in the first inning after a bases-clearing double into the right center gap. The Moose never looked back. Rice finished the game with 4 RBI. The Moose earned the #1 seed in the 18U division after posting a 15-1 league record. In the playoffs, they had a first round bye and played Dream Bat Black. After defeating Dream Bat Black, they advanced to the Championship where they faced off once again against Black. The Connecticut Moose are the 2016 18U ITBL Champions!

It took Dream Bat Black nine innings to beat the Western Mass DiamondJaxx in the 16U Championship. The DiamondJaxx took a big 6-0 lead in the fifth. Black battled their way back and headed to extra innings. In the bottom of the ninth, Kyle Cunningham lead off with a double. Kevin Smith came up next and grounded out to the second baseman, advancing Cunningham to third with one out. Cunningham scored the winning run after a wild pitch to help Black walk off in the Championship game. Entering the playoffs, Black was the #2 seed in the 16U division after posting a 9-3 record in league play. In the playoffs, Black won their first game against Dream Bat Red, won the winner's bracket final against the DiamondJaxx, and advanced to the Championship where they faced off once again against the DiamondJaxx. Dream Bat Black are the 2016 16U ITBL Champions!
