ALUMNI HONORED BY HOCKEY EAST

Boston, MA- Hockey East hosted its annual awards banquet on Thursday night and once again, Eastern Junior Hockey League alumni finished the night with plenty of trophies. Seven players representing four member clubs received individual honors.

 

Boston College junior Brian Dumoulin (New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs, pictured, left) was presented with the Best Defensive Defenseman award and was named to the First All-Conference team. Joining Dumoulin on the first team were senior teamate Barry Almeida (Springfield Pics) and University of Maine senior Brian Flynn (Monarchs, pictured, center).

 

UMASS-Lowell sophomore Doug Carr (South Shore Kings, pictured, right) was named to the second team and was the runner up for Player of the Year. Maine junior Joey Diamond (New York Apple Core) joined Carr on the second team.

 

UMASS senior T.J. Syner (Springfield) received honorable mention.

 

Trevor vanRiemsdyk (University of New Hampshire/ Monarchs) was named to the All-Rookie Team.

 

Additionally, the University of New Hampshire Wildcats won the team sportsmanship award. Team members include EJHL alumni vanRiemsdyk, Justin Agosta (Jersey Hitmen), Greg Burke (Monarchs), John Henrion (Junior Bruins), Kevin McCarey (Syracuse Stars), Steve Moses (Bruins), Ryan Randall (Monarchs), Matt Willows (Hitmen), and Jeff Wyer (Valley Jr. Warriors).
