All-Star Game Recap

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Independent Travel Baseball League had their first All-Star Game in the inaugural season. The day was designed for the all stars to gain exposure from college coaches in attendance. Blue Gray, the Official Showcase of the ITBL, kicked the day off with the 16U all stars by conducting batting practice and an extended infield/outfield for coaches in attendance. After the showcase portion, Noah Bleakley of the Western Mass DiamondJaxx took the mound for the first pitch of the first-ever ITBL All-Star Game. The Western Mass DiamondJaxx and Dream Bat Red were on Team Asselin, coached by Dan Asselin, head coach of the DiamondJaxx. The All-Pro Rebels and Dream Bat Black were on Team Mayo, coached by Tim Mayo, head coach of Dream Bat Black. The 16U game ended in an 8-8 tie.

As the 16U game was finishing up, the 18U all stars began their showcase with Blue Gray, by participating in batting practice and infield/outfield. Zorian's Devin Sawyer took the mound in the first inning against Dream Bat Red's Mason Scott. Jay Hummer, head coach of Zorian, was at the helm for Team Hummer coaching his players from Zorian along with players from the Connecticut Moose. Dream Bat Black and Dream Bat Red players were on the same team for Team Mayo, coached by Dream Bat Black's head coach, Matt Mayo. In the bottom of the 7th, Cam Hartmann from Dream Bat Red, singled up the middle to score the winning run as Team Mayo walked off in the 18U All-Star game.

The all stars had the chance to play in front of numerous colleges, including Western New England, Eastern Connecticut State, Westfield State, Elms, and Trinity.

After the quick All-Star break, the 18U regular season is expected to conclude on Thursday, July 21st and the 16U regular season is expected to conclude on Sunday, July 24th. The double elimination league playoffs are slated to begin on Tuesday, July 26th.
