Sam Sustersic was cold coming off the bench, but Sustersic warmed up quickly as Sustersic stroked a key pinch-hit single in the seven to lead the Piedmont Pride (27-7) to an 8-5 win over the Concord Weavers (10-23) on Thursday at Concord HS.
With Sustersic came to the plate and singled, bringing home Mike Morgan.
Chandler Redmond racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Piedmont Pride. He homered in the first inning.
Ryan Huey pitched lights out for the Piedmont Pride. The Concord Weavers managed just two hits off of Huey, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his 5 2/3 innings of work.
Arien Seymour improved to 4-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Piedmont Pride. He allowed one run over 1 1/3 innings. Seymour struck out none, walked none and gave up two hits.
Sean Parsons was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
