Taylor helps the Lake Norman Copperheads down the Concord Weavers 2-1

Aaron Taylor went 2-3, helping the Lake Norman Copperheads (10-20) to a 2-1 victory over the Concord Weavers (10-22) on Wednesday at Hough High School.

He singled in the third inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

Eric Whitecavage pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, seven hits and no walks while striking out five.

Despite the loss, the Concord Weavers' David Dunlavey dominated the Lake Norman Copperheads' batters, giving up one run and striking out six.

Matthew Freeman did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Concord Weavers, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Devin Bagwell improved to 1-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Lake Norman Copperheads. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered no hits.

Nick Coble ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.
