An outstanding effort by Jacob Lebel spurred the Seacoast Mavericks (21-10) to a 16-2 win over the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (14-18) on Friday at Leary Field.
Lebel rocked the Marthas Vineyard Sharks with two home runs. Lebel went 4-5 in the game with five RBIs and three runs scored. Lebel homered in the second and sixth innings.
Five runs in the opening three innings allowed the Seacoast Mavericks to easily put away the Marthas Vineyard Sharks. A two-run home run by Lebel and a solo home run by Barry Buchowski during the second inning fueled the Seacoast Mavericks' offense early.
Tyler Beck had an impressive outing against the Marthas Vineyard Sharks' lineup. The Marthas Vineyard Sharks managed just three hits off of the the Seacoast Mavericks' pitcher, who allowed two earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his five innings of work.
Despite the loss, the Marthas Vineyard Sharks' Jack Nelson dominated the Seacoast Mavericks' batters, giving up one run and striking out seven.
John Nolan (0-3) took the loss for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks. He lasted just two innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
