The Magicians’ final pick in this year’s draft was Nate Nelson from Hopkins High School (MSHSL).
Nelson was a three-year varsity hockey player for the Royals, contributing as a top scorer during the last two seasons. In 2014-2015, he registered 11 goals and 12 assists for a total of 23 points in 25 games. As a senior last season, he averaged over a point per game with 14 goals and 14 assists for 28 points in 24 games played.
Nelson and other Magicians prospects will compete for spots on the initial Magicians roster at the team’s upcoming Main Camp in late July at Richfield Ice Arena. The Magicians host their home opener on Friday September 16th against the Springfield Jr. Blues at Richfield Ice Arena.
