The Seacoast Mavericks (16-7) and the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (8-15) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Seacoast Mavericks that eventually took advantage of them in a 5-4 win at Leary Field.
Tyler Beck handled the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs' lineup with ease, racking up five strikeouts. Beck allowed one earned run on six hits and two walks over six innings.
A bright spot for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs in the defeat was Naushon Galbraith, who allowed only two runs while striking out nine.
Andrew Lalonde improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Seacoast Mavericks. He allowed one run over one inning. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered no hits.
Galbraith (0-2) took the loss for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs.
