2021 Finals
Date: Jun 12, 2021
In celebration of the 10 year anniversary, let’s take a look back…….
In 2006 Jamie DiDomenico from Marple had a vision to create a league with more games, better competition, more teams, more players and more rinks. . Discussion of how to create a “tri state; rink – to –rink league” along with Inferno’s Nick Pilotti was discussed at a secret location many years ago; with the location never to be mentioned again! So together with Nanette Houser and Rick Pohlig they embarked on creating what we now know as NAYRHL. In the early years, long before individual skill and age divisions existed and 24 minute games, they were play 1 play all – no mercies – and 45 minute games. As the NAYRHL has evolved there are more divisions, more clubs, more teams and in some cases all around better competition. Jamie has continued to stay involved each year promoting the younger ages and developing the 8u division as the Director of Expansion.
He continues to keep the rink rivalries strong, in fact him and Denis Jelcic from the ISCA Grizzlies, who have come along to join the league for the last 6 years; have a friendly wager about who talks less trash with the loser buying tickets to the first Rangers/Flyers game of the next season. …and adding Nick Pilotti to the trip (invited so he does not have to watch the Penguins play). Jamie has seen a bigger vision for youth sports in the area, he has since opened a long time coming youth facility – that we can not mention by name for fear for a free plug – but it is found about a mile down the road from the other – with the help of Cobras Club Directors Dave, Dan and Joe – whose tent at Finals was absolutely amazing.(see them for a great meal this weekend!).
We’d like to give a special thanks to the following club representatives for all of their assistance over the years:
Ken Paris(Fox Chase) who continues to grow the program along with continuing to overhaul our current rulebook and discovering new ways to help perfect this great league.
Nick Pilotti who has helped organize Western PA by wearing his new favorite black and gold colors, and trying to improve the structure of this league. Mike Gerger and Tim Davis who have helped organize the evolution of the current roster review board along with many other improvements.
Sandi Maffei who at the beginning of this league, was everything and everyone this league needed to be. Scheduling, administration and organization, if it had to get done, she was the one who was behind it. A HUGE THANK YOU to her.

And last but not least, Tammy Suydam, Denis Jelcic, Tony Santia and Mike Rosmini who have helped keep together a great product of roller hockey for the tri-state area in NAYRHL. As we continue to try and grow one of the best youth roller hockey leagues, we also want to thank all of you; the parents who continually drive throughout the east coast to every rink your children can play at. And last but not least, the players who play the grueling game schedule to try and make this great league happen.
