Boston Blades Captain Tara Watchorn has signed a two-year contract to remain with the Blades.  She will enter her third season with the team.

“I’m so excited to be joining the Boston Blades for another season,” Watchorn said. “There are no stats or numbers that could even come close to explaining how special of a team we had last year and the amazing group of people who changed my life forever.”

Watchorn, a blue-liner from Newcastle, Ontario, is a 2012 Boston University graduate. She notched two goals and four assists for the Blades last season.

“I am more than happy to be a part of this special program moving forward and I can’t wait to see what the 2016-2017 season has in store for us,” she said.

Watchorn was part of the Blades 2015 Clarkson Cup Championship team, having registered six goals and 14 assists during the 2014-15 regular season, and two assists during the Clarkson Cup Championship series.

“We are thrilled that Tara has renewed her contract with the Blades,” said General Manager Krista Patronick. “She provided leadership and experience for a team that saw large roster turnover last season. Her dedication to this team is unmatched and I look forward to seeing where next season will take us under her continued leadership.”
