Zack Goodman has decided to return to the Cape Cod Islanders for the 2016-17 season. The 5'6" 170 pound right handed defenseman from Monroe, NY played 36 games scoring 3 goals and 15 assists while registering a +30 rating for the Islanders. He saw action in all six playoff games scoring 2 assists and was a +3. While serving as an assistant captain for the 2015-16, Goodman was a key part of the defense corps that lead the Islanders to the 2016 Eastern Division Championships.
"We are very excited that Zack has decided to return to our team this season." coach Jay Punsky said "Zack is a top defenseman and he garnered a lot of college attention last season. He is a great leader on and off the ice and we will be looking him to expanding his leadership role this year."
Goodman's play earned him an invitation to the Trenton Titans of the NAHL camp this weekend. "We are so happy that Zack's abilities have put him in a place to be recognized by the NAHL. We certainly wish him the best of luck this weekend." Punsky said
