BURLINGTON wins tough contest against CAMBRIDGE, 3-2

Rebecca Vanstone scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and MISSISSAUGA held off the challenges of STONEY CREEK in a tough 3-1 win.
MISSISSAUGA took over the lead for good with a goal by Vanstone at 10:06 in the first period. Kailey Lapense assisted on the tally.MISSISSAUGA was led by Vanstone, who registered one goal.
MISSISSAUGA stifled STONEY CREEK's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.
MISSISSAUGA also had goals scored by Daryl Watts and Maya Kerfoot, who scored one goal each. In addition, MISSISSAUGA received assists from Kaelyn Johnson and Willow Corson, who each chipped in one.
STONEY CREEK's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three MISSISSAUGA power plays.
STONEY CREEK was led by Mary Corby, who scored the team's only goal. Corby scored 4:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 STONEY CREEK.
Loryn Pearson took the win and made 11 saves before being replaced by Cassie Reale who made nine saves. MISSISSAUGA incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. STONEY CREEK's starting goalie, Hannah Miller, made 13 saves and finished with the loss before she was taken out in favor of Jaimie Rainville, who stopped seven shots. STONEY CREEK incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
