2016 MOIHA ALL-STAR FESTIVITIES!

Date:  Source: Missouri Inline Hockey Association

It was an exciting night for 28 players who represented 22 different high schools in this year’s MOIHA All-Star game.  This was the first year that MOIHA selected three All-Star captains who each drafted their team from the list of participants.  This years All-Star captains were Michael Schrader (FZW), Nick Schnelle (Holt), and Caleb Cooper (Francis Howell).  Each player was given a 2016 MOIHA All-Star jersey then played a round robin format to kick off the event.  While this was taking place, players were being evaluated by MOIHA personnel to be chosen as the 2016 MOIHA Select All-Stars.  Before the Select All-Star team was announced, a skills competition took place awarding Nick Schnelle (Holt) as the fastest skater, Cory Robinson (FHC) as the sharpshooter, and Josh Wisely (FZW) as the top goaltender.

After the skills competition; ten players and two goalies were announced and given custom Tour hockey jerseys to represent the 2016 MOIHA Select All-Stars.  These players then matched up against Lindenwood University’s Division-1 team, who have won 10 National Collegiate Roller Hockey Association (NCRHA) national championships since 2002.

It was a tight first period as each team exchanged scoring chances but Lindenwood’s goaltender Charlie Robinson stopped all 6 shots he faced.  Lindenwood got on the board first with goals from Jalen Krogman, Spenser Marquiss, and Jake Escarcega.  The Lions led the MOIHA Select All-Stars 3-0 at the end of the first period.

It was all Lindenwood in the second period as well with the Lions scoring 7 times and Caleb Cooper tallying the only goal for the MOIHA Select All-Stars.  The final score was 10-1.

MOIHA would like to congratulate all the 2016 All-Stars and thank Lindenwood University’s D1 team for coming out to the event.
