Gravelle nets hat trick, leads North Iowa to 4-1 win over Metro

Metro could not stop North Iowa's Brett Gravelle, who tallied a hat trick in a 4-1 win.

Gravelle's first goal came 2:30 into the second period. He then added goals at 7:37 into the second and at 18:38 into the third.

Metro was stymied by North Iowa's netminder David Johnson, who stopped 31 shots during the victory.

Kohei Sato also scored for North Iowa. More assists for North Iowa came via Eric Piatt, Joe Burgmeier, Austin Jackson, and Jack Stang, who each chipped in one.

Metro could not produce up to its normal offensive output. Metro averages 4.4 goals per game. Metro's offense rang up 32 shots on North Iowa's net.

Metro was led by David Chavis, who scored the team's only goal. Chavis scored on the power play 6:42 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Metro. Metro had gotten the advantage when North Iowa's Marshall Barnes was sent off for tripping. Jacob Drinkard assisted on the tally.

North Iowa incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Kameron Limburg made 23 saves for Metro on 26 shots. Metro incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
