The Brown Bears are honored to announce the signing of David Mitchell to an NAHL tender for the 2016-2017 season.  Mitchell served as an Assistant Captain of the Rocky Mountain Roughriders U18 squad in the NAPHL.  In 62 games, the hard working two-way forward produced 17 goals and 22 assists. Mitchell was coached by 14 year NHL veteran Doug Smail.

"David is one of those players with great natural skating ability whose speed can be game changing" said Smail.  Scouting Director Rich Michalowski adds, “In addition to his skating and puck skills, David is a smart player who shows a strong respect for the game.  He plays hard between the whistles and exhibits a team first attitude without drawing attention to himself.  His approach is refreshing and we anticipate that he will immediately have a positive impact in our locker room and conduct himself in way that reflects positively on the organization.”

Mitchell adds, "I am extremely honored and excited to begin my junior career at Kenai. I see this as a huge opportunity to better my skills and help the team as much as possible."
