Walkerton's penalty kill excelled, as Walkerton gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays.

Hawks were sparked by Justin McCrae, who grabbed one goal. McCrae scored in the first period to make the score 1-0 Walkerton. Braden Boley and Brendan Welsh registered the assists on the goal.

Walkerton stifled Kincardine's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.Hawks kept Bulldogs's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jacob Hutchings made 28 saves on 31 shots.

Walkerton also had goals scored by Connor Patton and Reid Simmons, who each put in one. In addition, Walkerton received assists from Boley, Ryan Hamelin, Welsh, and Tyler Cunningham, who each chipped in one.

Nick Redman recorded 18 saves for Walkerton. Hawks incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Kincardine incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For Bulldogs, Brett Burrows was ejected from the game.
