The London Nationals and the Strathroy Rockets were evenly matched throughout their contest, but London made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.
Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Austin Kemp's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.
After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Strathroy faces elimination next time out.
Kemp had a great game for the Nationals, netting two goals.
London forced the Rockets goalie Dane Gubbels to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.
London additionally got points from Tanner Ferreira, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Tyler Sehovic also scored for London. Other players who recorded assists for London were Derek Di Iorio, Callum Ruddock, Scott Goodman, Rai Di Loreto, and Brenden Trottier, who contributed one each.
Strathroy was helped by Lucas Latina, who tallied one goal. Latina scored 6:08 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Evan Hogg provided the assist. Others who scored for Strathroy included Matt Laberge and Liam Fordy, who each put in one. In addition, Strathroy received assists from Nick Griffin, who had two and Dante Copps and Shane Bulitka, who each chipped in one.
Connor Hughes made 22 saves for the Nationals on 25 shots. London incurred 62 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Gubbels recorded 34 saves for the Rockets. Strathroy incurred 36 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
