Niagara Falls beats Fort Erie 4-1 as Lansfield gets hat trick

The Fort Erie Meteors could not stop the Niagara Falls Canucks' Zack Lansfield, who tallied a hat trick in a 4-1 win.

Lansfield got on the scoresheet 3:22 into the first period. He then added goals at 8:31 into the first and at 18:47 into the third.

The win gave Niagara Falls a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Fort Erie was stymied by the Canucks' netminder Adam Dentico, who stopped 25 shots during the victory. Dentico certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.0 entering the contest.

Niagara Falls forced the Meteors goalie Brayden Lachance to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Niagara Falls also got a goal from Matthew Baldinelli as well. In addition, Niagara Falls received assists from Matthew Marsden, who had one and Frank Pucci, who had two.

Fort Erie was led by Holden Garlent, who scored the team's only goal. Garlent scored on the power play 7:01 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Niagara Falls. The Meteors had taken the advantage when the Canucks' Patrick McCabe got sent off for slashing. Troy Henley picked up the assist.

Niagara Falls incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Lachance recorded 27 saves for Fort Erie. The Meteors incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
