Early goals doom St. Marys, falls to Chatham, 13-4

The Chatham Maroons jumped out to a five-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat the St. Marys Lincolns, 13-4.

Nolan VandenBoorn had two goals and two assists to lead Chatham. VandenBoorn scored the first of his two goals at 5:55 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Chatham. Josh Barraclough picked up the assist. VandenBoorn's next tally made the score 6-1 Chatham with 14:25 left in the second period.

The Maroons forced Lincolns' goaltenders to work in net, getting 52 shots and forcing 39 saves. Paul Town made 27 stops and Emanuel Vella made 12. Chatham found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Maroons average 5.0 goals per contest.
