Moon squeaks by Mars, 3-2

Moon and Mars were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Moon made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2.

Moon gained the winning advantage on a goal by Logan Rosser 14:40 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Rosser was all over the ice for Moon, as he racked up two goals in the win.

Nicholas Hart also scored for Moon. In addition, Moon received assists from Jared Maxin, Thomas Polster, and Luke James, who contributed one each.

Mars stifled Moon's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Mars was held below its usual level of production. Mars averages 5.2 goals per game.

Mars was led by Keaton Hanna, who tallied two goals. Hanna scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 13:27 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mars. Mars earned a power play opportunity when Polster was put in the box for roughing. William Scurci picked up the assist. Hanna's next tally on the power play made the score 2-1 Mars with 3:13 left in the second period. Owen Vasbinder assisted on the tally.

Moon's Ryan Durkin stopped 22 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Moon incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Tyler Spreng made 22 saves for Mars on 25 shots. Mars incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
