Keegan Angel scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the Kincardine Bulldogs held off the challenges of the Mount Forest Patriots in a tough 4-2 win.

The win gave the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Kincardine was led by Eric Langridge, who had one goal. Langridge scored 8:02 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Kincardine. Shawn Rooke assisted on the tally.

The Bulldogs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Mount Forest to score on any of its four power plays. Kincardine's offense rang up 46 shots on the Patriots' net.

Kincardine also got points from Gerrit Satosek, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Shawn Moore, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Kincardine were Robert White, Tyler Fregona, and Derrick Bernath, who each chipped in one.

Mount Forest excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Bulldogs were unable to stop the Patriots from sending pucks towards the net, and Mount Forest eventually piled up 44 shots on goal.

The Patriots were helped by Doug Ardis, who racked up one goal. Ardis scored 8:44 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kincardine. Mitch Betts provided the assist. Blair Butchart also scored for Mount Forest. In addition, Mount Forest received assists from Doug Costanzo, Mathieu Oullette, and Trevor Hughson, who contributed one each.

Kincardine's Jacob Hutchings stopped 42 shots out of the 44 that he faced. The Bulldogs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Kincardine ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Fregona was ejected from the game. Oullette rejected 42 shots on goal for Mount Forest. The Patriots incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For Mount Forest, Betts was ejected from the game.
