The Amherstview Jets pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Picton Pirates on a clutch goal by Adam Kim.
Amherstview came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Jets fell behind 2-0 after a power play goal by Picton's Nate Kellar at 9:33 in the second period. Amherstview knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Dawson Chard at 19:40 in the third period.
The Jets were led by Kim, who had one goal. Kim scored 40 seconds into overtime to make the score 4-3 Amherstview.
Amherstview forced the Pirates goalie Charles Grimard to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.
Others who scored for Amherstview included Cody Smith and Brett Maracle, who scored one goal each. In addition, Amherstview received assists from Brett Yake and Cody Jodoin, who contributed two each.
Picton was helped by Mitch Burke, who grabbed one goal. Burke scored 6:18 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Picton. Mitch Thompson picked up the assist. Nick Devito also scored for Picton. More assists for Picton came via TJ Patterson, Tye Eaton, and Mitchell Merry, who each chipped in one.
Ryan Kaszuba recorded 26 saves for the Jets. Amherstview incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Pirates' Grimard stopped 30 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Picton incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
