The Caledon Golden Hawks climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat the Stayner Siskins, 5-4.

Caledon let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Golden Hawks took a 1-0 advantage on a power play goal by Christian Mariconda at 4:29 in the first period. Caledon went down 4-2 after Stayner's Kyle Lafreniere put the puck home at 6:09 in the second period. After knotting things up at 4-4 on a goal by Mariconda at 13:00 in the third, the Golden Hawks got the game-winner from Matt Magliozzi at 19:59 in the third period.

After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, the Siskins face elimination next time out.

Mariconda had a great game for Caledon, netting two goals.

The Golden Hawks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Stayner was unable to stop Caledon from sending pucks towards the net, and the Golden Hawks eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

Caledon additionally got points from Magliozzi, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Caledon included Randy Chen and Tyler Whitten, who scored one goal each. In addition, Caledon received assists from Ryan Mouser, who had two and Jeffrey Ohashi, James Pitsadiotis, Daniel Cafagna, and Ryan Wonfor, who each chipped in one.

The Siskins were helped by Jordan Taylor, who tallied one goal. Taylor scored 7:55 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Caledon. Ben Skuce picked up the assist. Stayner also got points from Griffin Pearce, who also registered one goal and one assist. Lucas Jeffery also scored for Stayner. More assists for Stayner came via Sean Healy, who had two and Kort Weir and Ricky Darrell, who contributed one each.

Caledon's Sam Procopio stopped 23 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Golden Hawks incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Luke Aulthouse rejected 30 shots on goal for Stayner. The Siskins incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. For Stayner, Jeffery was ejected from the game.
