South Fayette tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but Montour held on for a 3-1 victory.
A goal by Brandon Eisel put Montour up 3-0 in the second period, but South Fayette pulled to within two on John Lipovich's tally 1:23 into the third period.
Montour was led by goalie Hayden Chieffo, who finished with 32 saves while allowing one goal. Chieffo managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.49 prior to the game.
