South Fayette tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but Montour held on for a 3-1 victory.

A goal by Brandon Eisel put Montour up 3-0 in the second period, but South Fayette pulled to within two on John Lipovich's tally 1:23 into the third period.

Montour was led by goalie Hayden Chieffo, who finished with 32 saves while allowing one goal. Chieffo managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.49 prior to the game.

Montour's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four South Fayette power plays. Montour did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Montour puts an average of 7.4 pucks into the net per game.

More assists for Montour came via Camron Smith, Ritchy Froehlich, Ian McLean, and Anthony Hartwick, who each chipped in one.

South Fayette managed to stay out of the box for the most part, totaling one minor for 12 minutes in penalty time. The total was was till above South Fayette's average of 10.0 minutes in penalty time per game. South Fayette's offense operated below its season average. South Fayette averages 6.0 goals per game.
