Moon blows out Chartiers Valley, 7-2

Moon had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-2 win over Chartiers Valley.

Moon pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 18 penalty minutes.

Moon forced Chartiers Valley goalie Brandon Edwards to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots. Moon surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Moon averages 4.6 goals per game.

Chartiers Valley was led by Michael Sedlak, who registered one goal. Sedlak scored 3:21 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Moon. Noah Fodor picked up the assist. Chartiers Valley also got a goal from Spencer Carlson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Chartiers Valley were Trevor Stevenson and Jacob Sherman, who contributed one each.

Ryan Durkin recorded 16 saves for Moon. Moon registered three goals on six power play opportunities. Chartiers Valley's Edwards stopped 37 shots out of the 44 that he faced. Chartiers Valley incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
