Seven unanswered goals from the Napanee Raiders after a bumpy first period sent them to an 8-3 victory in Amherstview on Sunday night.

Napanee would get goals from eight different sources on the night (Jordon Cannons, Austin Boulard, Chad Caskenette, Nicolas Schuler, Tyler Romain, Aidan McFarland, Riley Steeves and Cullen Hinds). Three goals came in the second and they would add four in the third to break the game open. Caskenette, Brodie Butt and Zach Knapp-Hermer added a pair of assists, while Cannons, Steeves, Ryley Richardson and Trent Schutt added single helpers. Cam Parr stopped 36 of 39 shots in net, allowing Amherstview goals to Cody Smith, Cody Jodoin and Wyatt Crampton. Joey Mayer (2) and Crampton picked up assists. Ryan Kaszuba made 20 saves on 28 shots in a tough night in net. The Raiders went 3 for 7 on the powerplay, while Amherstview went 0 for 3 in a penalty filled game that saw the two teams combine for 174 penalty minutes.

Napanee picks up their 20th win of the season in their 33rd game, while Amherstview falls to 18-11-3. Both teams will clash again in the rematch Tuesday night for the eighth and final time this season at the Strathcona Paper Centre.
