The Grimsby Peach Kings had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-2 win over the Niagara Riverhawks.

Grimsby's penalty kill excelled, as the Peach Kings gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Grimsby forced Niagara's goaltenders to work without much rest, firing 35 shots and forcing 28 saves. Scott Charanduk made 15 stops and Sebastian Iannone made 13. The Peach Kings found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Grimsby averages 4.3 goals per game.

The Peach Kings were helped by Matthew Jambrosich, who had two goals and two assists. Jambrosich scored the first of his two goals at 5:05 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Grimsby. Brennan Smith picked up the assist. Jambrosich's next tally made the score 7-2 Grimsby with 5:07 left in the third period. Dakota Kingston provided the assist. Grimsby also got points from Smith, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Grimsby included Jeromy Hopkins, Joshua Kozielski, Garnet McComber, and Brady Cranwell, who each put in one. In addition, Grimsby received assists from Trevor McEneny, who had two, Aidan Board, who had four, and Carson Macrae, Nicholas Purves, and Curtis Conrad, who contributed one each.

The Riverhawks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. Niagara could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 50 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Riverhawks were helped by Dawson Ethier, who registered one goal. Ethier scored 15:54 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Grimsby. Jamie Bennett picked up the assist. Lucas Maciejewski also scored for Niagara. More assists for Niagara came via Alex Cipriano, who had one.

Jeremy Currie rejected 18 shots on goal for Grimsby. The Peach Kings incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
