James' goals lift Moon to 3-1 victory over Hampton

Moon relied on the scoring touch of Luke James, who netted two goals, to beat Hampton, 3-1.

James scored at 5:08 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Moon and again while 16:53 into the third to make the score 3-1 Moon.

Hampton's power play was ineffective against Moon's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Moon excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Moon kept Hampton's goalie busy throughout the game, and Kameron Bott made 33 saves on 36 shots.

Moon also got a goal from Trey Kirksey as well. In addition, Moon received assists from Jared Maxin, who had two and Brayden Lange and Jakob Konecsni, who each chipped in one.

Hampton stifled Moon's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Hampton could not produce up to its normal offensive output. Hampton puts an average of 5.1 pucks into the net per game.

Hampton was led by Justin Weinbrenner, who scored the team's only goal. Weinbrenner scored 7:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hampton. Alex Michel picked up the assist.

Moon's Ryan Durkin stopped 24 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Moon incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Hampton incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
